I was in the Hodson Bay Hotel for a Lero event, and I checked out the gym. They have the same brand machines as my gym, but with touchscreens built into them. I did not like it. I'm sure they are higher-spec, but they were annoying as hell. The touchscreens didn't react at the exact location where I touched, off by up to 2 centimtres (on a little screen that's a lot).
Another spinning class. I'm getting to really like them, I think I'll add a second one each week. Refining my technique on the bike too, man standing hill climbs where you don't allow your head to bob up and down, that is tough!
Another spinning class, but this time it was great! I had been a little lax on the exercise during the week, so that helped I'm sure, but I also paced myself myself much better this time.
I really enjoyed it, got myself a bit of the exercise high too... first time since I've started back to the training!
This time round, during my attempt to get fit, I'm making a more concerted effort to improve my flexibility, and areas that give me problems, such as my back. I think it's working, but it will be a little longer until I'm sure.
Anyway, some more yoga on the wii fit... I couldn't do the last pose, whatever it's called, all the rest I made an ok effort at!
I sat down on the bike, I was feeling good. The first twenty minutes I pushed myself hard, the sweat was dripping down my face. As it turns out, I pushed myself too hard; first a wave of extreme nausea kicked in, I was positive I was going to throw up. I dropped the bike to level 1, and dropped my RPM to about 20, and I started praying!
I did another 20km time trail on the bike in the gym again. I decided I needed a more regimented approach though, and I used the 'Hill Plus' setting instead of the 'random' setting. It was definitely harder, but ultimately more rewarding. I did the 20K in 36:18, which wasn't too bad. I stated on the bike for the full 60 minutes though, and did 33K overall.
A nice one hour long spinning class in the gym. It's been a while, so I took a little bit gently, wasn't as tired at the end as I thought I should have been. But it's hard to push when you're not sure how long or how hard you'll be pushing for; next week I'll be better.
